Banat Brunch
Banat Brunch
Banat Brunch is a series of gastronomic culture events hosted in traditional Banat households. Their aim is to bring visitors closer to local food, traditions and the people of the region, in a simple and authentic setting.
In Banat, a guest is called a goșt, and a gosti means welcoming someone with a set table and an open heart. This spirit defines every Banat Brunch event. Hosts cook using family recipes passed down through generations, relying on fresh ingredients from their own gardens and orchards or from nearby local producers.
The menu changes from place to place and from season to season, but it always reflects the flavours of Banat: homemade noodle soup, smoked ham with tomatoes and brined cheese, pork roast with țușpais (a traditional cabbage dish), oven-baked pies, crofne (doughnuts), or mișpais drizzled with honey. All dishes are prepared by the hosts themselves, using carefully selected local ingredients.
Beyond the meal, Banat Brunch is about time spent in the village: walks through the countryside, workshops, local producers’ markets, and meetings with craftsmen. Everything unfolds at an unhurried pace, just as a day in the countryside should.
